Ian Lurie – @portentint
Ian Lurie is Chief Marketing Curmudgeon and President at Portent Interactive, a firm he started in 1995. Portent is a full-service internet marketing company whose services include SEO, SEM and strategic consulting.
Ian’s built his firm, his blog and his career around the idea that the internet is a fantastic marketing medium, but that it hasn’t fundamentally changed the rules of successful marketing: A great product, a great message, well-crafted content and careful analysis will always win out.
Ian recently co-published the Web Marketing for Dummies All In One Desk Reference. In it, he wrote the sections on SEO, blogging, social media and web analytics. He’s the author of Conversation Marketing, the blog (at www.conversationmarketing.com) and the book by the same name.
Allie Herzog – @AllieHerzog
Allie Herzog comes from a public relations background and offers clients a combination of creative, public relations and digital/social media worlds. She specializes in helping business differentiate themselves and prevail by embracing change and integrating new and traditional tools.
Herzog recently moved to Houston, TX from Manhattan to start her consulting business, integratePR, to help companies of all sizes differentiate themselves and prevail as the digital and social media frontier continues to rapidly evolve. She works with clients around the country to develop organic, captivating, logical campaigns that integrate digital and social media tactics into public relations and marketing strategies.
In New York, as Quinn & Co’s digital media manager, Allie helped to identify new outlets to reach targeted consumers; aided account teams in analyzing clients’ Web presence; and guided them in the process of selecting strategic interactive media initiatives that met clients’ overall goals. She worked with the real estate, travel and food, wine + spirits clients to build blogs, RSS feeds, podcasts, social networks, and search engine optimization techniques to help execute creative and strategic online campaigns.
In her spare time, Herzog practices yoga, loves to explore new restaurants and is waiting for her pug puppy, Waffles.
Ginger Wilcox – @gingerw
Ginger Wilcox is a Broker Associate at Alain Pinel, a San Francisco Bay Area real estate firm as well as a founding partner and Vice President of business Development for the Social Media Marketing Institute. She is an accomplished speaker, writer and trainer on the real estate industry, online marketing and social media strategy. Ginger is a Certified Instructor for the Certified Social Media Marketer Designation (CSM). Her recent speaking engagements include the National Association of REALTORS® Annual Conference, Inman Real Estate Connect in New York City, and ReTech South.
Ginger is the publisher of www.BlogbytheBay.com, a highly regarded Bay Area real estate blog and was recognized as one of the top 10 women bloggers in real estate in 2009.
Jack Miller – @jackmiller
Jack Miller is the Chief Technology Officer for the Goodlife Team Real Estate Brokerage in Austin Texas.
As former Software Development Manager for Keller Williams Realty International and a part owner of 4 Keller Williams franchises, Jack has extensive experience with both real estate technology and the needs of agents and brokerages.
During his tenure at Keller Williams Realty International, Jack managed a technology team including software developers, web designers, and database administrators. He was also an active member of the Agent Technology Council and contributed leadership and direction for the implementation of enterprise solutions for Keller Williams based on feedback from Keller Williams agents and Market Centers.
Jack and his team implemented projects ranging from public facing websites, reporting and data systems, ecommerce and payment solutions, email marketing systems, and personnel management solutions for the franchise organization. In addition to in house development, Jack managed implementation and co-development with 3rd party products in the franchise system, including the Webex Weboffice (formerly Intranets.com) product for Market Centers.
In 2005, Jack became the founding coach and consultant for the Technology Coaching division of the MAPS Institute, and led a team of technology coaches there until Dec 2008.
Prior to his work in the real estate industry, Jack led a project team for a startup company providing hosted enterprise software solutions for K-12 school districts. He also designed hardware and software for ActivePower (NasdaqNM: ACPW), a green energy company providing power storage solutions based on high-energy flywheel technology.
Jason Benesch – @listingpress
Thousands of real estate professionals have benefited from Jason’s expertise, service, consulting and innovation. Jay Thompson – @phxREguy
Jay Thompson is the co-owner and Designated Broker of Thompson’s Realty, an independent boutique real estate brokerage serving home buyers, sellers and investors across the Phoenix metro area. Thompson’s Realty was founded in February 2008 in the middle of one of the worst real estate downturns in recent history yet has grown and prospered and now employs 14 real estate agents.
Operating as a “virtual brokerage”, Thompson’s Realty has no brick and mortar presence.
Jay utilizes no traditional real estate prospecting or marketing methodologies; instead he uses the Internet, social media and networking, and blogging to attract and retain clients and market properties.

Rhonda Porter – @mortgageporter
Rhonda Porter is a mortgage originator at Mortgage Master Service Corporation, located in the Seattle area. She has been in the real estate industry for 23 years and has always enjoyed marketing. She began blogging in November of 2006 and writes for several blogs, including Rain City Guide, in addition to her own blog, The Mortgage Porter. She credits an easy 75% of her business to be directly from social media forms such as Twitter and Facebook.
Once RE Blog World takes place, Rhonda will have spoken at WAMP events, for the Seattle King County Association of Realtors and at the Mortgage Girlfriends Mastermind. She has also participated at RE Barcamps in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago and is the organizer for the Bellevue mini-RE Barcamp. She is also the Social Media Committee Chairperson for the Washington Association of Mortgage Professionals.

Derek Overbey – @doverbey
Derek Overbey is the Sr. Director of Marketing & Social Media at Roost and brings more than 14 years of technology and real estate experience to Roost.com. Prior to Roost, Derek spent more than five years as the Vice President of Marketing at Intero Real Estate Services.
Prior to his positions at Intero, Derek oversaw or consulted on various marketing and public relations duties at a multitude of startups and established global brands including eHome, SoMA Real Estate, Gateway, Toshiba, Hitachi, Sotheby’s International Realty and Alain Pinel Realtors.
Derek has a huge passion for blogging and is the primary voice at the Roost blog, as well as other high profile real estate blogs.

Heather Elias is a real estate professional with Century 21 Redwood Realty, in Ashburn, Virginia. Heather has combined a background in public relations and marketing with small business ownership experience to grow her successful real estate business in northern Virginia. Her aggressive marketing program leans heavily on internet marketing and social media, garnering a solid 75% of her business from her online efforts. Her hyper-local blog about Loudoun County, LoCoMusings, is the lynchpin of her business and won her the title of Virginia Blog Brawl Champion in 2008. Ricardo Bueno is a Social Media Consultant with the national recognized Real Estate Tomato where he trains and coaches Real Estate Agents on the effective use of social media for their real estate marketing.With a passion for presenting Ricardo has spoken at several private and public real estate conferences and is Founder of REBarCamp Los Angeles (a one-day free social media event attended by 300+ individuals in the real estate industry).

Dave Smith – @daveintucson
I’ve been involved in the real estate industry for 10 years. The first 5 as the database administrator for the largest brokerage in Southern Arizona, the last 5 year as a real estate agent who’s primary responsibility is internet marketing. I started the Real Estate Blog Lab in 2007 as a resource for RE Bloggers primarily using self hosted WordPress, but with information applicable to all RE Bloggers.
I have authored the hyperlocal Tucson real estate blog since 2007 as well with almost 1000 posts and even more photos. It is the marketing basis for our Tucson real estate business.
I’m an avid writer and photographer with a couple photo blogs as well as the ReImaging Photo Lab where RE Agents can have listing photos re-imaged as HDR images or retouched for maximum marketing appeal. I also author a photo tips blog as part of the Photo Lab site.
I do blog coaching and design work for real estate and mortgage agents all across the country. I believe that blogging is the primary platform for real estate marketing on the internet and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.
I also author several other blogs which are not related to the real estate one being ForNoRealReason.com with a collection of random thoughts and life observations. I blog, I blog a lot. I’m looking forward to meeting many more RE Bloggers at this years REBlogWorld conference.

Sherry Chris was appointed President and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC in October of 2007. Her appointment followed Realogy’s announcement that it had entered into a 50-year agreement with Meredith Corporation to license the Better Homes and Gardens® name to launch a new and dynamic global residential real estate brand.
Sherry was most recently Chief Operating Officer for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. Overall, Sherry has more than 30 years of real estate experience, including, significant senior management positions in the areas of sales and marketing, new technologies, and franchise management. A native Canadian, she began her real estate career in Canada and held increasingly senior positions with Royal LePage for 16 years before taking on executive roles with Real Living (Ohio) and Prudential CA/NV/TX Realty. She joined Realogy in 2006.
Well known within the real estate industry, Sherry is a frequent speaker at real estate and technology conferences. She serves on Zillow’s broker advisory board and has served on a number of industry- and technology- related advisory boards, including Trulia and Google Real Estate. She is also a past chairman of The Realty Alliance and has been listed as one of Inman’s 100 “Most Influential” Real Estate leaders every year since 2005. Sherry is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario, and earned an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
